Mount Kinabalu is a famous mountain range in Southeast Asia’s Borneo Island. It is located in the eastern voluntary state of Sabah and is protected as a World Heritage Site in Kinabalu National Park. The highest peak in the Kinabalu Borneo Crocker Range and the highest mountain in the Malay Archipelago. Mount Kinabalu is also the world’s top prominent mountain range. By using satellite technology in 1997, it re-surveyed the height of 4,095 meters above sea level, which is 6 meters less than previously thought and 4,101 meters in the figure. The mountain and its surroundings are among the most important biological sites in the world, of which 4500 species of plants, 326 species of birds and 100 mammals have been identified.
